For our annual excursion, Damien led us on a walking tour of the Candlebark Reserve. He gave a very interesting account of the history of the reserve on the way. We were impressed by the extensive revegetation of former farmland over the last 25 years. Stately mature remnant red gums, box trees and candlebarks were highlights of the walk. Lilies and rice flowers were flowering in several places. We picnicked in a shady spot by the Yarra.
