For several months now, I’ve picked a “focus” scripture. For several weeks, I really focus on that scripture and put it in the center of everything that I do. I don’t move on to a new scripture until I feel sure that I’ve have a clear understanding of the last one. The last one was Mark 12:30-31 (30) “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all of your soul and with all... of you mind and with all of your strength,” (31) “the second is this, that ‘you should love your neighbor as yourself’. There is no other commandment greater than these. – Primarily focusing on 31, because this is truly difficult for me. Starting today, I’m focusing on Romans 6:14: For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law, but under grace. In other words, I will not need to compromise God’s values, which have become my own, and fall into sin to win the approval and temporal “rewards” of this world, and I will NOT not do this because Jesus will love me more because I’ve done it, but simply because he just does love me. Isn’t that something!?
