For some reason, I have been running into people who are just stupid about food lately. John and I were at our favorite Mexican restaurant Thursday night. There was a very loud woman haranguing the poor server about how wonderful it is to be vegan. She loudly said (so everyone in the restaurant could hear her) that none of the animals humans eat consume other animals. We should be as ethical as those animals are. Holy cow. It took all the self control I had to not stand up on my chair and yell, Have you ever seen a chicken eat a snake? Or a mouse? Or bugs, or voles, or any number of animals? And how about ducks- do you think they are just eating algae in that pond? Argghhhh!!!! Stupid, stupid woman.
