For some reason, I have been thinking about the words to the Rusty - TopicsExpress

For some reason, I have been thinking about the words to the Rusty Goodman song, Who Am I. I sang it in my head, I sang it out loud......and yet it wasnt enough. So, I took the time to think about it. When I think of how He came so far from glory Came to dwell among the lowly such as I To suffer shame and such disgrace On Mount Calvary take my place Then I ask myself this question Who am I? Who am I that The King would bleed and die for Who am I that He would pray not my will, Thy Lord The answer I may never know Why He ever loved me so But to that old rugged cross Hed go For who am I? When Im reminded of His words Ill leave Him never If youll be true Ill give to you life forever Oh I wonder what I could have done To deserve Gods only Son To fight my battles until theyre won For who am I? Who am I that The King would bleed and die for Who am I that He would pray not my will, Thy Lord The answer I may never know Why He ever loved me so But to that old rugged cross Hed go For who am I? But to an old rugged cross Hed go for, who am I? After thinking about it, and reading those lyrics, it came to me. This wasnt just a song....it was words and music that were inspired by the Holy Spirit, through a man that God knew, would listen to Him. Look at the questions in the song......think about the words, and how it applies to each of us individually. It is the crucifixion, the sacrifice, the resurrection, and the promise of tomorrow. Who else is going to fight our battles until they are won....who else was prepared to make that sacrifice, so that you and I could have eternal life. He may not ask much of us, John 3:16, but what He offers us, is beyond our human comprehension. Yes the song has a lot of questions....Who am I ( thats me) that The King would bleed and die for (Jesus on the cross)....that He would pray not my will, Thy Lord ( before they hung him on the cross....ready to die for you and I) Why He ever loved me so...( Because He knew me before the foundation of the world...and that is His promise). So sing it...and when you do, make sure it is more, than just one more song. Take time to listen as Rusty Goodman and Tanya Goodman Sykes sing it together. youtu.be/sFilnKaA8a4
