For the 3rd time in my life I have poison ivy in the winter. I finally had to go to the dr. this last Tuesday because of the reappearance around my eyes. This second round surprised me since I thought it was gone for about a week. Now you ask how I got poison Ivy during the winter and it is pretty rare but seems I do rare things a lot. We have 3 fireplaces and can go thru a lot of wood. Sometimes we split trees that are very big and have had poison ivy in the bark. I rub my eyes after I carried in some wood before I washed my hands, Thus the winter outbreaks. This year I really concerned the dr. because it was all around my eyes and up my nostrils and my mouth. So he prescribed Steroids and a pretty large dose at that. Anyone who has ever taken steroids know that there are many side effects to them and one of them is the ravenous hunger that goes along with it. I have worked and lost over 20 pounds and it is a good solid weight loss and even over the holidays!!! Keep me in your prayers that I will be able to maintain this loss and dont have the hunger battle. It seems like I am not having the issues I did when I took it back in 1985. I gained 40 pounds in about 6 weeks and that was when my actual weight issues took off so badly plus I was dealing with the loss of my daughter. I even started smoking again after having stopped for 3 years. I have been smoke free for 15 years now and cant ever think about going back. I just am so happy I have lost this weight and can actually move pretty well. As any of you know that battle weight it seems a constant war. So when we lose it is a win and it is hard to have a set back.
