For the first time since last August, having Spot out the other day, she actually started to make me nervous. She never acts aggressive at all, never coils up in a threatening manner, but she has started rattling her tail whenever she sees me. I used to always joke about it being her way of greeting me, with a tail wag. I am starting to wonder if there isnt some truth to that. But even so, everyone is taught from a young age that when a rattlesnake rattles it means its in aggressive, or at least defensive mode. Well, here is Spot, who the moment I set her down in the driveway feels like she has to crawl over to wherever I am and crawl all over and under my legs and finally settles down either on my lap or under my legs, but at least 25% of the time now she is rattling. Like I said, she never appears to be aggressive at all, but that constant rattling really was starting to get on my nerves the other day, and I actually started to sweat. SNAKES!!! Who can figure them out?
