For the last 43 years my primary residence is in Tulsa, OK. With Ash Weds this week and the beginning of Lent I am reminded how difficult it is to be Catholic in a place where there are few Catholics. After Ash Weds mass I stopped at a nice restaurant for lunch. I ordered clam chowder. The clam chowder was prepared with Canadian Bacon and Chicken and did not have clams in it. One young man in a store let me know that I must have been working on my car because I had grease on my forehead. Someone else wished me a Happy Ash Wednesday. Several years ago a Baptist minister that I know informed me that I had a smudge on my forehead. I try to use these instances to be instructive to those who do not understand. Hopefully, Sister Marion and the rest of my Divine Providence teachers woud approve. Today is Friday, i.e., no meat. What I would really like is a fish sandwich from the North Park Lounge.
