For the last couple of years I have become more in tune with my body. I know that there are certain situations that are more likely to cause me to end up sick. If Im stressed, overtired, not eating because of the stress, running around crazy, and just plain out of my normal laid back routine. This week was one of those weeks where I saw all these factors coming together. In an effort to thwart this sickness I took the following self care measures: 1. Intake extra vitamin C 2. took tiny naps at ever opportunity, even if it was only 15 or 20 minutes 3. Planned for the best nutrition that I could while traveling on the road. Fruit (ewww), cheese sticks, whole grain crackers, almonds and protein shakes were my staples. 4. Avoided lifting, as I knew this would just add extra fatigue to my already lagging body 5. Used caffeine only when absolutely needed, being careful not to overdose and burn out quickly. This plan worked beautifully. I ended this week with a killer deadlift session, stronger than I thought I would be!! AND Im not ending it in bed with the sniffles like usual. The moral of this story? Plan ahead if you see rough waters coming ahead of you, nobody can be 100% successful without preparation :) - Crystale
