For the longest time, I have been saying that bangketas or sidewalks have been steadily disappearing in the Philippines, and now actually long since gone everywhere in the country. They have become garage extensions of private homes, stores, kulahan, labahan, tambayan, kainan, at iba pa. Even in so-called private subdivisions, they have been turned into well manicured gardens and places where companies big or small have chosen to put their humongous tarpaulins, posts, and just about everything they can think of to benefit their businesses. And the most tragic of them all is, NO ONE COMPLAINS!
