For the past seven or so years I have literally seen where people have posted such harsh things about the Old Testament. Nontheless, christians. They have belittled His law, and judged God for bringing punishment upon men. Sadly, this shows their complete ignorance of God and the Bible especially when they witness these things in front of nonbelievers. If you have read the Old Testament, then you know that the Lord our God punished men severely at times. But what they do not notice is the fact, God gave warning after warning after warning. He sent His prophets with warnings, telling men what would happen if they did not turn from their sins, The warning was there literally as Adam and Eve walked the earth. We worship a holy God and a holy God punishes sin. He sees every single side of every story, He knows every outcome, who learned from what, and what every mans future holds. Regardless of all of this, He still sent His prophets to warn man before He destroyed. He gave man laws to abide by. He did these things to keep men peaceful with Him and one another and to show us how He expects us to live. Men abused the law, made it about the letter of it, and disregarded the spirit of law all together. By doing this it caused them to reject the best thing in the world given by God - JESUS. Our holy God does punish men, this is shown throughout the whole OT, but His mercy was also shown. Gods grace be with you all.
