For the past two weeks I have watched the media attack the Republican congress for their part in the Govt shutdown. They were condemned daily for being mean and not providing unlimited funds for Obamas programs. The Senate Democrats however were described as generous, kind, and reasonable for sending a clean bill to the president. A clean bill meant that it provided anything and everything without concern for deficits or debts. It reminded me of an observation made by a frustrated single Mom with three children. She had full time custody of the children while her ex-husband had them every other weekend. Her ex-husband was the fun parent or the Disney-land parent. He took the kids to the water park or to Chucky Cheeses on the weekend while the Mom took the kids to school or the dentist during the week. He took the kids out for pizza or ice cream while she with limited funds tried to feed them with vegetables and raman noddles. He would return the children with a new video game or toy which the Mom would then have to confiscate until their homework was completed. After hearing, I hate you! I wish I was with Dad! , she sadly returned to finishing the daily laundry. With limited money and limited time its hard to keep the children happy while a Disney Dad lurks nearby. The Senate is filled with Disney Dads.
