For the record... A teachable moment (and forget the subject of the story here--the larger point is the person(s) who originated the story). I took journalism classes in school, and covered news stories for a short time afterwards, and reported on them. As such, Journalism 101 taught me that one should obtain two sources for verification before running with a story. Ian Rapaport, and nfl, now have egg on their faces. Why should I believe any stories they report on in the future? A couple of shakers of Morton salt will be required at the very least...
