For the second time this year, Ive received an absolutely ridiculous medical bill from an unexpected source. First, Hobokens CarePoint hospital was out of network and didnt bother to mention it in any conversations until they hit me with a post-procedure bill. Now PromptMD, whom I had trusted for years, is hitting me with a ridiculous copay. I hate that I basically cannot trust any health care provider without having some form of pre-procedure agreement in place. This countrys healthcare system is completely broken. (And before anyone blames it on Obamacare, please note that the trends leading to this outcome were in place well before the ACA was passed.)
