For the umpteenth time in umpteen years, Robin at Audiofile asked if I had a new photo to go with an upcoming mention, and for the umpteenth time, Ive admitted that I dont. I get the feeling thats not exactly typical, but theres a pattern. I drive a ten year old Prius, have twenty year old washer and dryer, a fairly limited, not very stylish wardrobe, and wont replace any of these items until theyre broken or completely worn out and no longer serviceable. Same with my (non-professional) pic. Its still a fairly accurate representation of me. Early balding has advantages. Ive never had head shots. Nor have I had an actors resume (or training of any sort) when I worked onstage. Never had a demo for audio. Ive blundered through my career, lucky enough to stay on a path that may not have led to celebrity or stardom or riches, but did lead to a happy, mostly comfortable, always rewarding life. It would be unreasonable to ask for more. The thought of changing any of this just seems daunting, and too much like work.
