For those interested in learning some basic Mongolian Khoomei singing, I will be teaching lessons, live in Toronto and also on Skype. I traveled to Mongolia in 1987 on a Canada Council grant to study the vocal techniques of Mongolian folk music. Khoomei is an amazing art-form and was used to embellish story-telling during the pre-Buddhist shamanic culture.
