For those of us that may not have received Jims email dated 11/25/13: Dear Matanzas Woods Resident: I want to thank you again for meeting with us to share your ideas on the future of the Matanzas Woods golf course land. Although several concepts and community needs were identified, it was clear to me that many residents were hopeful about seeing the golf course re-opened. We still believe that a great regional park would serve the residents well and contribute to the revitalization of the neighborhood. Having said so, there seems to be so much passion about rebuilding the golf course that we have decided to work with the neighbors to explore ways to see the course re-opened. It may even be possible that the golf course could be renovated along with incorporating some components of a community center and trail/park system. During our meeting many of you volunteered your time to work together on the golf renovation and other apparent needs of the neighborhood. In the coming weeks, I would appreciate hearing from anyone willing to assist. Please feel free to circulate this email to your friends and neighbors that may have missed the meeting. We would be happy to add them to our mailing list for future information. In addition, the City of Palm Coast can be instrumental in helping us accomplish our goals. Having the community organized with one united voice will certainly be instrumental in partnering with the City on neighborhood improvements. Thank you again for your time. However, he still seems to be hell bent on the regional park.
