For those of you with long haired cats, you know what I mean when I mentioned the matted look they get as they get older and dont groom themselves very well anymore. My old gal is 13 years old and other than the occasional brushing, shes always kept her fur in good shape. The past couple of years, shes not done so well and the skin underneath gets hot spots. Since shes an outdoor cat, I have a difficult time getting to her long enough to brush out the shedding fur to prevent the clumps. So...today, she got shaved. Yes, I shaved my cat and while the clumps of matted fur are gone, she looks pretty sad, lol. However, I walked away unscathed so I feel it was a success. :D
