For those of you wondering how the fiberglass gel coat turned out, here it is. I should have done more bodywork to it, a couple of the biggest spider cracks still show, but all the fine small ones are GONE :)! It now looks like cottage cheese all over, but theres a nice thick layer over the whole thing. It took every bit of a quart to get only 2 1/2 coats on it, but only 1 coat of this stuff equals 4-5 coats of paint. Ive built up the surface of the hood with abt 12 mil of fresh factory finish. Now comes the real work, starting with #320, & gradually working down to #2000, I have to sand it smooth followed by buffing to a high shine.
