For those of you working with the vulnerable or the economically disadvantaged groups, news that the Government’s effort to cushion these groups through Social Protection has received a major boost from the World Bank must be music to your ears. Well, for those not in the know, the Bretton Wood’s institution has approved a zero-interest credit of $250 million (Sh 21.7b) to help the government set up a national social safety net program. As social workers, we are trained to make extraordinary difference in the lives of the vulnerable and the disadvantaged, what is your take on this?
