For those still asking me how shes doing. Here is the latest on Miss Brianna Louise from her mom... Its been 8 months since the accident. (Feels much longer) Brianna continues to make improvements everyday. She is getting physically stronger everyday and she is also learning new ways to manage her short term memory loss. Brianna does at times feel angry that she always has to do therapy or doctor appointments and cant just do normal teenager stuff like her friends. I try to explain that it wont always be like this and it will get less and less and eventually you will be 100% again. We just have to hit it hard the first year and even into the second year but it will improve your life in the future. We have made some changes to her therapy schedule. She is now going to Physical Therapy on Monday and Wednesday in Ladysmith. Speech and Occupational Therapy on Tuesday and Thursdays in Rice Lake all in the mornings. She was just too tired in the afternoon and now that the winter decided to come early this year it is just safer fro me to drive in the daylight. She seems to get more out of therapy in the morning when she is fully charged. She is missing more school doing it this way but we changed her class schedule (again) to hopefully accommodate this change. Briannas labs have been in the normal range for the past few months which is great news. Her liver and kidney function are pretty much back to normal, basically as if this had never happened. Her kidney specialist still wont allow her to take ibuprofen and other meds like it because they are very hard on your kidneys and actually he probably wont ever give us the green light on those kinds of meds and thats OK Im just so thankful that she didnt have to be on dialysis for the rest of her life! Her diabities insipidus (sodium issue) is also under control. Brianna has started to show an interest in reading her caring bridge journals so please feel free to make posts.
