For those that complain about not getting a certain job. You may be qualified in some ways, but how qualified are you really? A couple years ago I was turned down for a receptionist job with NANA (yeah, even being a board members daughter, a college student, & a shareholder). I didnt have much experience at the time, I had only worked a couple cashier jobs. I thought I was qualified enough at the time just because I was in college, and I thought that automatically made me look smart (lol). Then during my next year of college I learned a lot more about being in the customer service industry; I really came out of my shell and got much more comfortable around people, and I also learned how to completely transform my resume! (I hadnt even realized how much improvement it needed). I started out by working a couple different part-time jobs at the mall, then got a job at the Alaska Club, then I was hired as a part time receptionist at Lithia (for about 2 months in 2011 I had 3 part time jobs). I decided to try my luck with NANA one more time; I got an interview and felt way more confident the second time. I got a call back from NANA saying they would like me to start out as a part time/on-call receptionist. I almost took the job, but I ended up getting offered the full-time receptionist position with Lithia (I didnt want to pass that up). After a while I got promoted to being a Vehicle Administrator (until we moved here to Vegas). The point of this post: you have to start small and work your way up; you cant just expect things to be handed to you because of who you are or because of what you think youre qualified to do. Will probably offend some of you, but ah well Im sure you all would expect these sort of posts from me by now! lol
