For those that havent already heard the news. YCC are still top of the Foss Evening League going into the last week of the competition. The team beat Osbaldwick last night despite their best attempts to call the game off and let Woodhouse Grange gain points, the game went ahead. A special thanks to Mick Stop Hammertime Hammerton for the impromptu pitch inspection that got the game back on. YCC posted 95, a low score and with a cluster of utterly comical run outs littering the middle overs. In return OCC got off to a good start but Peter McGrath Boxall bowled a tight spell and Jake Murphy got the wicket of the big hitting Tom Young. Hugo and Felix Adams also bowled very important spells. Matty The owl Wright took the catch on the boundary to dismiss Woodhouse stalwart Drew Horner which changed the game. When all hope seemed lost, Captain Chris Burn stepped up and bowled the penultimate over. OCC needing 4 to win off 12 balls with 4 wickets left. The Foss league crown was slipping out of our grasp. Burn did the job 3 bowled and a snick off! Winners in a controversial fixture. 3 points and a solid lead at the top of the league. #weareyork #daretodream #CmonYorkies
