For those that see harsher laws as the answer to life difficulties and human failing, never underestimate how abusive and unfair it can be when there is not a balance. I recently represented a four tour special forces active duty soldier arrested in Wilson County and held without bond for allegations that were totally dismissed and found to be baseless within 48 hours. (usually its a week at least, we got real lucky) The fact that our constitution says every person is entitled to bail if incarcerated doesnt matter. If your child or husband were suddenly picked up on unproven allegations as simple as allegedly making a phone call and he or she could not make bail until everyone can get an agreeable court date, you would not like our domestic violence laws as they now stand. It happens every day.
