For those who asked me for a review of American Sniper... I can only say this: GO see it but be prepared. it is beyond INTENSE. I am sure that Bradley Cooper will never be the same. It was extremely well done. And it messed me up. I have not heard a theatre that quiet at the end of a movie since my mother and I saw Platoon in 86. We were the only women in the theatre. And the silence was deafening. Even now, I am still not quite comfortable in my own skin and I cannot explain WHY. I just want to say THANK YOU to anyone in a uniform. I am not like you. I was not cut from the same bolt of cloth as those willing to fight for our freedoms. Whether you agree with the war(s) or not is not the point. THe point is that there are men and women out there who do what we cannot. And they do it willingly. And they do it repeatedly, tour after tour. Year after year. The only thing that I could do...the only thing I can do....the only thing I DID do...was come home, pick up the phone and call a Veteran. That was a 30 minute phone call that I think we both needed. I think I might call another today.
