For those who have asked what machines the bayonet base LED will - TopicsExpress

For those who have asked what machines the bayonet base LED will fit, here are some answers. The short answer is any machine that does not have an extended length plastic bulb socket will probably take one of the new bulbs. Any machine with either a short or long plastic bulb socket and no clearance issue around the bulb will probably take one of the original style LED bulbs. The original Singer incandescent bulb had a conventional brass base with the glass globe molded to it. The original style LED bulbs have the same kind of base, made to the correct dimensions, so it fits in with no problem. The globe is larger, so it could represent some fit issues in a tight space (like in my wifes Pfaff 1625 - but it does work). The new style, lower price LED bulb has a small globe, however as with many things they try to reverse engineer, the Chinese have thrown a wrinkle in the works. The base has a step in the metal part - see photo. This causes the new bulbs to NOT fit in longer bulb sockets. As those of you who bought them have or will find out, the base size is slightly large, making them require more effort to install. That is, on some machines you have to twist them in really hard. But at least you only have to do this once. Ever. So heres the list as personally tested by me tonight, on actual machines: No fit, either type LED bulb: 221K7 - the white machines (note - Rick Armao is selling the original style LED modified to fit the K7) Old style, large globe bulb: 221, 222, 301, 201, 15-91, 500 series New style, low cost bulb: 221, 222, and 201. Will NOT fit the rest of the above I hope this helps you decide if an LED bulb is right for you. David Werther Quilters Connection
