“For to me, to live is Christ” (Philippians 1:21a) What is - TopicsExpress

“For to me, to live is Christ” (Philippians 1:21a) What is life all about? Many spend their lives trying to figure it out. Struggling through the issues of life without a compass to direct, is like building a building without a blueprint. To “just wing it” so to speak is to be tossed like a ship on the sea without power. Eventually you will hit the rocks or sink. Experimenting with different ideas on “why I am here” will take us to various ports, all empty of meaning and value. Our hearts will feel the effects of life centered around “self” or other attempts to gratify these longings. We all have them, for God has “put eternity in our hearts” (Ecclesiastes 3:11). We are wired for an eternal connection, we are made for more. Paul the Apostle was one who looked to religion to fulfill this internal desire, doing whatever he could in his religion to find life’s meaning. The more religion he had the more empty he became, fueling the mistaken desire for more religion. That all changed the day he met Jesus (Acts 9). All of life is to know Jesus and live for Him. Until that day, we will feel like fish out of water. When we can make this statement, ”for me, to live is Christ,” we have come into harmony with God’s purpose. Our hearts are connected to God and connected to eternity. Life makes sense, has purpose and is heading somewhere amazing. The lesson here is to make a clear and definite decision about your life. Be clear about what you live for and what your life is about. Once you do, then life is simple. It is then merely a life of empowered obedience to God, with fruitful labor for the King of Kings, the Author and Finisher of your faith. Live for Christ, it’s the only life that counts. Many Blessings!!
