For todays #ThrowBackThursday Ive taken a project from my book How to Paint Furniture. To emphasise the unusual matt patina of this well-worn kitchen table I wrapped contrasting strips of shiny aluminium and copper leaf around the table edge, the leaf was deliberately torn to give a worn, jagged finish. I finished the look by stamping blue lines across the width of the table with the edge of cardboard. The stripes help to pull the loose shapes together. You can use all kinds of household objects as a stamp. Ive used everything from potatoes to cardboard, cork to sponges and the rim of a plastic cup to the head of a nail! Please share the stamps that youve made and used below!
