For transparency purposes, I received the HIGHEST number of votes - TopicsExpress

For transparency purposes, I received the HIGHEST number of votes cast at the SF PRIDE Annual General Meeting on Sept. 15. One public observer of the election process wrote: "The elections commission decided in violation of its own rules and of good sense, that the threshold to be elected was, in essence 75% of votes cast. They did this by declaring that every no vote would not only count as a NO vote, it would also cancel out a YES vote, meaning the NO votes were essentially counted twice. So for example, Gary Virginia, who as you can see received 101 of 143 votes cast, and 73% of non-abstaining votes, was declared not elected." Gary: Six new board members (including myself) & one incumbent should have been confirmed as winning the 7 open seats. The community should be very concerned about this. The entire meeting was conducted unprofessionally & perhaps illegally. The Agenda was not approved in sequence as required, items were addressed out of sequence, the calendar was not voted on appropriately, motions were passed without asking for abstentions, ALL the Reports were moved off the agenda and never discussed, the membership was not reconvened before adjourning the meeting, and more. Is there a good nonprofit lawyer willing to help???
