For twenty-one consecutive years, students and faculty from the Canterbury School in New Milford have traveled to Lourdes, France, to assist the old and sick. Several years ago, The Association de Notre Dame de Salut invited the Canterbury group, Our Ladys Pilgrimage, to join forces with its ranks. The trip takes place August 7-17, which includes being there for the Feast of the Assumption. The pilgrimage has such a profound effect on students that it is not uncommon for some of them to participate more than once. The pilgrims duties include working in the baths, pushing and pulling “malades to and from venues, assisting at the International Mass, and loading and unloading French pilgrims at the Lourdes train station.
