For two months up in the Yukon I made great efforts not to damage myself, and other than a few bruises I succeeded. I am on blood thinners and am not a careful person normally but I did try while away from home. Now I am home again I seem to be most uncareful. Last night when I got up for the usual trip to the bathroom, I found Inga stretched out in my path. She is a good size and I should have made her move, but she was sleeping so soundly. Returning I tried this again and stubbed my little toe so that it felt like I broke it. Now it is the most appealing purple shade. So...I won’t try that again and if I continue to step over dogs I run the chance of real damage if they suddenly startle and get up as I will get knocked on my keester for sure! I must learn to act my age and be more careful. Anyway its a long way from my heart(as horse people say) and I am sure I will live. What I really wanted to write is a story that happened while I was away from Miracle House. It goes like this: Many years ago on one of his many trips to Mexico or possibly the year he went to Spain....Eddie Aldinger brought me back a very long tanned skin of a Boa constrictor or some such snake. I was delighted, but not so my husband so I was not allowed to hang it in the house, although I did try. It really is lovely. However I realize many people find snakes offensive. When I finally arrives in Miracle House—my OWN place I knew I could do what I wanted, and in deference to offending any snake phobia people I hung it along the top of one bedroom wall and there it has been for some time. There have only been three occasions wherein someone else slept in my bedroom and I had forgotten all about it. Well while I was away Jimmy had company all the way from Amsterdam! I was sorry to have missed them but offered my house up for their convenience and apparently they had a great timeover here. One morning they mentioned the boa constrictor in the bedroom. Jimmy is short and had not noticed and did not believe them until they showed him. He never went in the room again he said. I hope they were not too shocked and that it did not disturb their sleep at alL. One of my friends that slept there said she kept “feeling” my stuffies looking at her. Oh well while on holiday you have tot take it as it comes.
