For what crime was the Muslim female student killed in Colchester? - TopicsExpress

For what crime was the Muslim female student killed in Colchester? A Saudi PhD student has been brutally murdered in Colchester by what the police are describing as Islamophibic attack yet the deadly silence by the media and the politicians is deafening. I remember when Lee Rigby was brutally murdered by two so called Muslims the entire worlds media, politicians and experts of Islamist terrorists were popping out from everywhere. The worlds media and especially our own the British media did not stop broadcasting the tragedy. Yet this totally innocent woman walking home along a quiet lane in Colchester gets killed for wearing an visible Islamic dress including a headscarf and a long over-garments and not much media coverage or pundits analysis is forthcoming. This leaves the British Muslim community to wonder if the rules are different for the Muslims. It seems the new trend in Britain is that it is fashionable to attack the Muslims verbally and get away with it. It feels like everyone is at it! I hear people talking about the Muslims in derogatory ways in the underground, trains, buses, restaurants, parks, schools, colleges and universities. I hate to guess what they say in the bars and pubs. I see people looking suspiciously at Muslim women with headscarf or Muslim men with long attires. I hear whispering friends laughing at the visible Muslims around them. I hear the mocking neighbours asking, do you know if it is a Muslim living next door to you? I hear the discussion in front of the school gates where scared parents are wondering which Muslim hardliner would conspire to take over their local school. These constant nuttering is chipping away the community confidence, cohesion and inclusion that was so normal on the streets of UK. It has become a daily experience for Muslims to leave home with fear that they may not return alive. My mother asked me if I was safe especially since I have such a public face of Islam in the UK. She has heard how the Saudi girl was murdered. My mother is not alone is her fears. There are thousands of Muslim mothers, Muslim fathers, Muslim brothers, Muslim sisters, Muslim husbands and Muslim wives who live in constant fear of being the next victim in the increasing hostilities against the Muslims in Britain today. These are fueled by the rightwing media like the Daily Mail, Daily Express, Evening Standard and Sun newspapers. The fire of Muslim hatred is fanned by the BBC, Sky, ITV and CNN televisions stations biased reporting. The Islamophibia in our country is gaining credence by the constant vilification of the Muslim community by politicians like Michael Gove and the rightwing neoconservative think tanks. Responsibility for every drop of blood shed and every life lost of a Muslim in this country because of Islamophibia or anti-Muslim hatred lies on the shoulders of those who have been constantly feeding this frenzy. They should hang their head in shame for they are destroying Britains community cohesion just like the tiny minority of extremists. This Saudi student killed by an Islamophibic attacker is not the first and I believe wont be the last. The saddest part is the media and the so called security and Islamist extremists and terrorists pundits absolute silence when the attacks are against Islam or the Muslims. I dont hear the same kind of vociferous condemnation we would usually hear when the perpetrator is a Muslim. Is this Saudi girl not human enough that the media, commentators, journalists, politicians and academic find their tongues tied and they are lost for words? I am usually inundated by media for comments when the attack is carried out by Muslims but this girl was murdered only two days ago and so far not a single journalist, reporter or columnist has called me to ask my views on this tragic loss and its impact on the community! If the perpetrator was a Muslim we would have witnessed the Muslim leadership paraded by the media asking for categorical condemnation but how many Non-Muslim leaders from the UK communities have been asked to make similar voices of outrage? Or even have volunteered their grief for the loss of an innocent life? I have read a few comments including the most outrageous one - she should not have worn such clothes! Its like saying you got raped because you wore a miniskirt. The entire feminist footsoldiers and liberal scholars would have been up in arms for making such such a suggestion yet when it comes to Muslim womens right to wear clothes of their choice the same people quietly approve the double standard. She was within hwr right to cover her head and no one has any right to target her. Whatever she wore, she was a victim of the tidal wave of Muslim hatred and Islamophibia that is flooding our country. We have to stand together against all types of hatred no matter who the victim is and we have to stop the perpetrators from carrying out such heinous attacking. The lack of action against anti-Muslim hatred and Islamophibia begs a serious question and justifiably so - are Muslims unwanted in Britain? I wonder if the silence is part of of a wider strategy which feeds into the neoconservative global agenda of discrediting Islam and breaking the back of the Muslim masses so they remain permanently dependent on the status quo! A few Muslims killed or attacked is part of the collateral damage worth ignoring for this will eventually lead to mass exodus of Muslims and finally expulusion from the west! If we are not careful we would have inadvertently created an environment of hate that could see rivers of blood of the Muslims flowing down the streets of UK and Europe. Europe does not need another Holocaust. Its not too late to do something and its not too late to end the misguided, misinformed, double standard and biased ways against the Muslims.
