For years Ive had this knot in my back left shoulder blade area (scapula) that acts up occasionally. Sometimes for days, sometimes for months on end, believe that, and smoking ,is what made my doc suspect lung cancer and why he sent me to a thoracic surgeon. No lung cancer, just emphysema, but man, here comes that knot again that now comes over my left shoulder and into my neck and collarbone area - painkillers and muscle relaxers have minimal effect, and the lidocaine patch doesnt help either. Going on for days and theres no position I can take to relieve it: arms up, arms down, arms out, arms in, lay down, sit up, on side, on back (no can do, pancreas does not like that), on stomach (also no can do, same reason) - sigh. Its one of those WTH!! things.
