Forbidden Love: Til Death Do Us Apart (Must Read) By: Psammist There was an issue at hand, they shared a similar surname, Mahlangu, and that in the African Customs, meant that they cant get married, if anything, it was considered as an incest, simply because, the two were related. They chose to pursue their love even more, but a thought lingered in his mind, But why invest so much on something that wont happen?, but then his love was too strong for him to do anything about it. They both knew that cant get married, but still stood stronger than most relationships. One day, Siyabonga took this girl to meet his mother, and they clicked immediately. Siyas mother loved her, well... Until she told her, her surname. The mood all changed, Siyas mother called him to the side, and said Hayi Fana, mos lonna ngu dadwenu, Siya thought that his mother was joking, and much to his surprise, she wasnt. She sat them down and explained to them that they are related, but then their love was too loud for them to hear anything. Ayanda knew that her mother wouldnt approve of him, in some way, this surname thing was considered as something huge in Africa. So she stalled every time he brought the When am I meeting your mom speech. It worked for her too, he always fell for her charm. A few weeks into it. Ayandas sister, Nomhlekabo saw the two flirting on facebook, she noticed that his surname was similar to that of theirs. She told their mom, and her mom didnt take too kindly to it. She took a firm stand to it. She told Ayanda to break up with him, but Aya was too stubborn to listen. Her mother pulled a tantrum and told her that if she left, she must never come back. She took her things and left. She went to his room and found somebody else living there. She called him but his phone was off. Siyas parents moved him to a college in Witbank. Then they confiscated his sim card and moved him immediately. He tried calling her but he forgot the two last digits to her phone number, and so he couldnt. He missed her so much, and so he saved up money to go to Siyabuswa. Not knowing that he will see her or not, he went there and saw her walking with her sister Nomhlekabo, her sister was really hostile towards him, he tried calling her to the side but her sister told him to leave. Seeing him on the road, Ayandas mother came running, she cussed and insulted the lad, but he couldnt help but notice the big belly on Ayanda, and so he knew that it was his baby. The insults got a bit louder and so did the crowd, Wena, ukwazi ukulala no dadwenu? Sies maan, She kept saying. The lad left and decided to never return. But the thought of a baby boy lingered in his mind. On his way to a nearby taxi rank, he saw Innocentia, Ayandas neighbor and friend. He left his numbers to her and asked her to give them to his girl. Innocentia was a bit apprehensive about it but she did it anyway, she was vastly inspired by his ambition to fight for real love. Ayanda called him later that day, they spoke for some time, they bonded. But her mother heard her talking on the phone, constantly yapping, I miss you baby, me and little Sam, she got inside and took her phone. Her mother was upset, she started hitting her. She fell on her stomach and lost the baby. She constantly glanced at the ceiling and wondered if there was a god out there.. Firstly, her boyfriend was not around. Her mother never came to the hospital, and She had to quit school. She lost her ambition to dream. It seemed as though, their love did more damage than good. She kneeled down one night, and prayed to a God that she knew nothing about. She prayed that Siya could progress greatly in life and that he may find happiness. In her prayer, never did she even mention them being together. Things worked out the way that she had hoped, he then got a job. After some months, He came around to see her, but she didnt live there anymore. I mean, Siya did not even know that she lost her baby. He called her every other night, but her phone didnt work. He went to Siyabuswa every weekend, and he still didnt find her. He began to lose hope, but his love stood strong. He went there one Saturday, and still didnt find her. The only thing that he found disturbing, was the sound of his empty stomach. So he went by a Mall nearby to buy some food, and there he saw her at Shoprite, her hair was a mess, her clothing were wrinkled, her nails were haywire, basically, she was simply a mess. He tried talking to her but she ignored him. She didnt want anything to do with him anymore, Its a curse of the ancestors a neighbor, at Shoprite remarked to a person she walked with. She was a laughing stock, everyone made fun of her. She was still shockingly beautiful, if anything, she was more beautiful than most of the girls at that shop added together. The dimple in her smile, the sway in her curve, the glitter in her teeth as she smiled, the clear skin on her body, she was still breath taking. He tried talking to her, but she simply said No, I dont anything to do with you. You ruined my life, He got the picture and left. She glanced at him in great pain, as this embroiled great torture to her small heart. She cried. Siya wait she yelled. But the place was too loud, and so he didnt hear anything. She rushed after him. But he was too far. She was a bit sick, and so she couldnt run. Though she walked a bit fast. He got on to his car and on his way out, he saw her coming.. She was short sighted, and so she focused on Siya and not the car that was coming her way. He got out his car and tried to save her but the car was too fast. It crushed into her and she was later admitted to a hospital. She was held in an I.C.U for about a week. Everyone gave up on her, even the doctors. But Siya stood strong, he never lost his hope. She fractured her skull, and it was rare for a patient to survive such a tragedy. Her situation was bad because, if she would survive, she wouldnt remember anything. He kneeled down and prayed, not that she would be alive and face all this strain but rather that God, took His angel and so that she would live a better life in Heaven. She was nothing short of a blessing, but the world never realized that. Siyabonga, noticed something about that girl. That, every time that he came to her room, a mockingbird would sing outside her room, and this only happened when he came. Even the nurses saw this. Every time he held her hand, it would be louder and more birds would join it. It was as if the world came at peace when the two were together. It was the end times for Ayanda, she was bedridden, and there was no hope for her to survive but Siya still went there everyday. He held her hand and told her that she was beautiful. She couldnt speak, move or anything for that matter. She was a just a vegetable as one nurse would say. A few weeks later, she died. It was not only a loss to the world, but her life was celebrated. They broke through the laws of this world and lived their lives in love. He never gave up on her. She never gave up on him. He still calls her, IsiPhalaphala Sami Sentokazi, and his love is still strong. To Ayanda, It was your soul that touched us all. Your presence was a heavenly blessing from up above. You will forever be missed. May her soul rest in peace. Sometimes, we face some barriers that force us to let go of some things that mean the world to us. Like Siyabonga, some guys are willing to risk their lives, time, and effort for real love. I am not saying that every guy is like that, but hey, there are guys that would kill to find a girl that would kill for them. In this story, Siyabonga, played the part of a guy that gave up everything to be with his girl. The truth of the matter is this, he lost his job because he never checked in. He slept at the hospital, and so he never went back there. He lost the trust fund that his mother made for him. He lost everything just to spend the last moments with his girl. Real love does exist. It takes a special type of man to appreciate the real worth of a woman. -Psammist Le Poet Please share this story, and drop a like in my page facebook/PsammistPoetry :) thanks..
