Forget...Good Morning...I am so sleepy #pouringintoyou...Forget. Growing up, I forgot was an unacceptable response to my Mamma. Our responsibilities were minimal so we were expected to complete whatever task we were given. My Mamma was sure to make us remember anything we forgot. My older brother thought he should stop doing homework in fifth or sixth grade. The teacher contacted Mamma about it and then approached him asking why he hadnt been turning in his homework. He told her he forgot to do it. There were several assignments he had failed to do. Mamma said...well, lets do them while you are remembering. He said he forgot all the assignments she told him to do. He couldnt remember all of that. Mamma said show me the last one you remember doing. He chose some random page. She said are you sure. Yes, maam. Well, start right there and keep going until I tell you to stop. Of course he now tries to change the page. Didnt work. He worked and worked and worked day in and day out. He kept trying to say he was through and they hadnt gotten to this page. Mamma said thats alright...when the class gets to that page you will already know it. They are going to think youre the smartest one in the class. He did every page until the end of the book. Needless to say he didnt forget to do his homework again. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. (Hebrews 13:16 KJV) There is so much more that I must learn but Mamma taught me some good life lessons that I cannot forget. I have forgotten some things that I wish I could have remembered at the right time. Forgetfulness can be very costly. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Have you ever been faced with that harsh reality? Mamma always said when you learn better, you do better. Oftentimes the problem is we dont want to know. I try to share with young people that the teacher doesnt know everything that you want to know. If you are interested in something you cant wait for the teacher to come to that subject. Everyone of you have access to the Internet. Look up and learn about what you want to know. We are often our own worst enemy. We seem to forget that hard work, integrity, loving God and our fellowman were the basis for peace and happiness. Envy, jealousy, backbiting are our new popular traits. What is the easiest way to get something for nothing is the new work ethic. We lie to get by on anything, even teaching our kids to lie. And we wonder whats wrong with the world today? My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. (Hosea 4:6 KJV) In order to get a different result you must do things differently. There is no time like the present to start right where you are moving forward. Leave those things behind that have hindered and weighed you down. Press toward the hopes and dreams that you desire. You need positive people in your life. Dump negative people. For everyone that is hindering you there awaits two or three waiting to help you. Is your environment stagnant. Go to new places and smell the fresh air. Does your job mentally, emotionally or physically make you sick? Where is your faith? God has your greater. Look forward to Gods overflow in your life. Where do you look? In the Word of God. Tenderly tucked away in the Bible you will find the strength, direction and guidance needed to grasp the desires of your heart. A new year is approaching. Be a new you. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, (Philippians 3:13 KJV) #pouringintoyou...Forget.
