Former NC Governor Jim Hunt writes about Real Respect for Teachers. Earlier this year, I called for a state commitment to raise teacher pay to the national average in the next four years. It was a bold proposal, but thats what leaders do. Since that time, teachers got a raise, but what they didnt get was a commitment.
