Found out I developed an allergy to (of all things) pistachios. Ate for a snack on Saturday afternoon and was in the ER by 5 with severe reactions. Never had this happen before. Now I am the proud owner of a Prednisone taper dose and a shiny new Epi-pen. I felt a heaviness in my chest and was told my throat was closing; swelled up something fierce (a la Dr. Doolittles shellfish patient in the movie with Eddie Murphy), and turned bright red with a burning itchy skin reaction. Talk about Saturday night parties. I was home by 11pm.
