Found this article via co-worker, from the Indianola paper which Mr. Bob Klinge saysFor the last couple of years, the Des Moines Register has been doing a statewide survey of employees and comes up with a list of the top workplaces in Iowa. This year 122 companies and organizations were honored. In 2013 the Waukee Community School District was ranked number 3 and this year they were ranked number 4. Waukee superintendent Dave Wilkerson said that, “The key for students is that they feel connected, and the same thing applies to employees.” He goes on to say that the bottom line is maintaining a “culture of caring.” I have always maintained that any organization will have dedicated and loyal employees when those employees are treated with honesty, dignity and respect. When this happens, employees will go above and beyond because they know what they do is appreciated. Great schools have a partnership with all the employees because good schools know that employees must feel they are working together for the benefit of the students. We have good schools in Indianola, the teachers are well paid but pay alone does not make for a great place to work. I have to agree.
