Four California activists who photographed a Circle Four pig farm in Iron County in September may be the first defendants prosecuted under Utahs ag-gag law. Ag-Gag laws are attempts by the animal farming industry to prevent the public from seeing what goes on behind their curtain of cruelty. Fines and prison time await whistle-blowers who dare to film or photograph inhumane farming practices where animals are frequently subjected to: filthy living conditions, castrations and other painful procedures without without the use of anesthesia, beatings and electric prodding by employees who seem to take delight in the misery of others, as well as routine violations of humane slaughter laws. Where is our humanity - our sense of right and wrong? How can you support an industry that tortures other sentient beings? How could it ever be your purpose to rob another living being of his or her purpose? By making vegan choices, you are rejecting cruelty towards all animals, not just companion animals, such as dogs, cats and horses. By making vegan choices, you are recognizing that animals exist for reasons beyond the meals you eat, the clothes you wear, the entertainment you seek and the products you use.
