Four families from Riverdale Primary School in Redcar took part in an Explorer Club Taster Day Session at Sutton Bank on Sunday. The taster session project is being funded by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and one of the aims is to promote the health benefits that being outdoors offers. The families spent the morning looking at mammals, creating natural artwork and using their senses to explore the grounds. In the afternoon they used folding saws and loppers to help remove some of the small birch trees on Cliff Plantation which is part of the continued work to encourage the rejuvenation of heather.
