Free app wants Filipinos to save more ABS-CBNnews Posted at 11/05/2014 1:44 AM | Updated as of 11/05/2014 1:44 AM MANILA - Keeping tabs on where your money goes can be a daunting and time-consuming task, especially we sometimes feel guilty about the things we choose to indulge in. Luckily for Filipinos who have an Android-powered smartphone in hand, one of the worlds top personal finance apps has launched in the Philippines to help one better budget their hard-earned cash. Wally+, which is exclusive to users of the Google-owned OS, is the redesigned brother of the chart-topping free IOS version. It promises Filipinos an unprecedented perspective into their spending patterns, ultimately, teaching them how to control their money. According to Wally founder and CEO Saeid Hejazi, Wally+ gives users a comprehensive picture of their finances by allowing their past expenses, present financial situation and future aspirations to come together holistically. The app, which does not require any details about ones account numbers or banking passwords to work, does so by using machine learning to adapt to user behavior, giving them real-time insights on where they should spend less on. It also keeps tabs on spending patterns of other users to provide an average look into how much ones peers typically spend on a day-to-day basis. Any financial tool can tell you if you spent 15 percent of your income on dining out but Wally+ goes further, added Hejazi. It uses these peer comparisons to let us answer questions like Are my spending patterns typical? Do I save more or less than people like me? The app also allows users to attach photos and tag their friends to a dining expense for example, allowing them to capture the people and moments associated with each expense. Wally+ is available for free on the Google Play Store.
