Freedom Sunday- scripture reference Isaiah 61:1-5. This weekend we celebrate the social gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the same kind of gospel that MLK used when galvanizing other leaders in the struggle for civil rights. We should be focused on the building of people, the saving and winning of souls as we remember those who gave their lives on the front line. Todays scriptures speak to our present need to continue the building of our cities, towns, schools and homes. The need to resurrect those that mourn, are broken-hearted and lost. As in Dr. Kings call for love- regardless of race, creed or origin- Jesus calls us to love and help one another. Dont let tomorrow just be a day off from work or school. Let it be a day of service in whatever capacity you are able to serve. Use the freedom that Christ has given you and give freely to others. Be blessed....
