French supermarkt makes a campaign against food waste. This - TopicsExpress

French supermarkt makes a campaign against food waste. This French supermarket chain has launched the new branding called the Inglorious Fruits and Vegetables sold 30% less than the perfect ones. Actually the principle of selling fruits and vegetables as they are, no matter how they look like without making any difference with the standardized ones, is already applied in oganic supermarket. By the way, the supermarket is known as being the one supermarket among others to put chlorine on the food they throw away in order to avoid that people go dumspter diving. I hope they dont do it anymore, its simply criminal. For this supermarket there is no lost, they simply make more money out of this promotion by using this ecological argument. Their marketing people are really clever using a word that reminds to a famous Quentin Tarantinos film! Do you remember it? What do you think about that idea promoting unperfect/un-normal fruits and vegetables in such a way as a campaign against food waste? Could this change peoples way of thinking and behaviour towards food waste - on a long term? What about the perfect or standardized fruits and vegetables? Are they thrown away if they are not sold out? They will get bad, right? Who knows something about that? How is your experience? Any French or people living in France here? https://youtube/watch?v=p2nSECWq_PE
