Frequently at Market Creek Plaza I cant help but observe the frolicsome chase of boys after girls, men after women, and vice versa, all over the Market Place and out onto the transit platforms. Theres a perpetual spring fling in the Market Creek PLaza realm. I think its like that in Market Places all over the world--the bartering is endless when hope springs eternal. Hugh Masakela addressed the issue with a lively tune, peppered with excellent trumpet work. It hearkens back to my distant youth when purchase in the Market Place was oh! so lovely: I see her floating lazily through the market like a butterfly I wont forget the day the Sun came shining in Just like the dawn bringing in the rays for that Sunshine in Congo A flaming torch she lit up the marketplace so brightly Colors as in a flower garden gracing her lapa shimmering purples and yellows and all the shades sparkling in the skies in the rainbows of the Congo Corn-row hair in a million braids eyes lit up like the northern star a smile that weaves a spell when she goes to look into my eyes shes turning me on with fever As she passes me by -- Hey Mama! Suddenly Im walking right beside her really turning her on when I tell her Im going wherever shell be going when she leaves the market right away I go to carry her bag of vegetables (Hey Hey Now!) We walk towards the road that goes down to the village She locks the door that leads into her hut ... We had a nighttime of ecstasy and we woke up to the roar of the lions She had to rise to the marketplace to her vegetable stall at the marketplace Thats where the Sun rises! I wont forget the day the Sun came shining in I wont forget the day the Sun came shining in I wont forget the day the Sun came shining in youtu.be/xSi000i13VA
