Fresh Flow Devo Free Radicals Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19 NLT) But I will do what the Father requires of me, so that the world will know that I love the Father. (John 14:31 NLT) Free radicals are atoms or groups of atoms with an odd (unpaired) number of electrons and can be formed when oxygen interacts with certain molecules. Once formed these highly reactive radicals can start a chain reaction, like dominoes. When we got saved we became so excited about God and being a Christian that you couldnt stop us from talking about God and if you tried to you wouldve been sorry! We were passionate we were on fire and wanted to tell anybody we met about Jesus! Our fire would become contagious and would cause other people to want to find out how to become a Christian! We were radical in the faith free to go throughout our cities and communities and tell people about Jesus. The word says if one can chase a thousand then two can chase ten thousand. We would team up with our friends and go out and recruit souls into the faith and before you know it your coworkers would be saved, classmates, family members all because we were free radicals going out to tell people about Jesus. Free radicals start chain reactions and thats what we did when we evangelized. We would cause dominoes to fall. One person gets saved and that first domino falls then everyone else would begin to get saved and fall in line. However though we are saved we were still human and faced everyday issues. Just because youre a Christian doesnt mean you avoid problems. It actually makes problems appear more in our lives but its our response to the problem that God was concerned with. Some challenges we were able to respond properly but some challenges left permanent damage which rocked us in our faith and have caused some of us to stray away. So what happens when a free radical that positively effected the kingdom now just becomes a radical and is damaging the kingdom? Because free radicals are highly reactive chemicals their chief danger comes from the damage they can do when they react with important cellular components such as DNA, or the cell membrane. Cells may function poorly or die if this occurs. Everybody throws the term Christian around loosely these days. The modern day Christian now looks holy on Sunday and like hell the rest of the week. Its okay to do whatever we want because God is still working on me. I can still kick it and fornicate and drink and smoke because God know as my heart. The world doesnt have a clear representation of what Christ looks like anymore because the ones that theyre looking at dont look like Christ themselves. The problem with the body of Christ today is that we have free radicals in the body causing damage to Gods DNA! We teamed up with other former free radicals in the kingdom and started doing radical things against the kingdom and we began to damage the body! As a child of God when we got saved the old identity we had God did away with and gave us a new life which came with a new set of DNA. Your old DNA said you were a liar but God called you truthful. Your old DNA called you a sinner but God called you grace and mercy. Your old DNA called you broke but God called you prosperous. So when we came into salvation God gave us a new set of DNA but the problem is because we have too many free radicals in the body souls are dying and the body isnt functioning properly! The kingdom suffers violence but the violent take it by force!!! But something i discovered as i continued to research free radicals is that to prevent free radical damage the body has a defense system of antioxidants. Antioxidants are able to safely react with free radicals and terminate the chain reaction before vital molecules in the body are destroyed! What am I saying? God is raising up a generation that will not be ashamed nor will they alter the message of Christ but will be the ones to represent the kingdom properly and not compromise or sell out and be the ones to cut off the enemy from doing further damage to the body of Christ and do as the word declares in Galatians 6:1 to go to their brothers and sisters in the faith who have become damaging free radicals and restore them in the spirit of meekness! Now that we are free in Christ we are free to run wild in this world and grab others that are lost! Thats the great commission. We are free in Christ so sin no longer holds us down and keeps us in bondage. Since youre free go run and tell EVERYBODY about Jesus!!!
