Friday, 14 March 2014 The breeze was warmer than yesterday but it was overcast so the overall feel was cooler than yesterday. Played toss ball as far as the picnic area then hand to mouth toss ball about a dozen times before Roxy moved into her goalie position. The rest of Marine Parade was a slow walk for me as Roxy was busy checking messages again. Half a dozen seagulls were having a real squabble on one of the roofs. At the first entrance to the woods Roxy chose the top path down. Went under the dry arch of the road bridge and found the pedestrian bridge blocked off as work was being done on it so we went along to the slip in front of the Ship. No one else was on that part of the beach and, apart from a little sea coal, it was all smooth sand. Got in quite a few throws as we drifted towards the stream. Managed to cross the stream without getting my feet wet even though the water was over the rubber part of my boots more than once. Roxy only went into the sea a couple of times and only belly deep again. The sea had been drawing trees in the sea coal again; if youve got to have sea coal on the beach it may as well look pretty! Played footie for the rest of the way along the beach. Id taken my hat off when wed stopped playing throw (I wear it to stop sand etc dropping off the throw stick into my hair) but I quickly put it on again near the end of the beach when I saw a cloud of sand being blown along the walkway from Hazelgrove woods to the beach. Roxy went off along the grassy slope again as I took my time walking up the steps then the little show off joined me near the top, ran past me, then stood grinning down at me.
