Friday Flicks| On November 18, 2013, co-inventors of recombinant DNA technology Herb Boyer and Stan Cohen discussed the evolution of university-industry relations over the past 35 years. Topics included the groundbreaking Cohen-Boyer patents, the enactment of the Bayh-Dole Act, cultural shifts in academia, and the current conditions for interdisciplinary science, technology transfer, and biomedical progress. QB3’s Regis Kelly, UCSF’s Keith Yamamoto, and Stanford’s Niels Reimers and Kathy Ku also spoke on the panel and David Ewing Duncan served as moderator.
