Friday May 9, Riley moves to stroke ward, an experience unto itself. Another great team of nurses and caregivers. Some challenges with keeping Riley in bed and resting as hes not yet fully aware of his deficits and tries to get out of bed by himself. That doesnt end well which is HIGHLY risky to his right leg and arm which are still immobile and susceptible to injury. Docs really want to avoid that. 24 / 7 watching & visiting starts with family taking shifts. On a positive note, speech continues to recover, as does cognition, a big big shift in a short time. Physio gets him up for an assisted walk. Only 6 days ago, we almost lost Riley, not things were turning a corner. Thanks Nancy. Thanks Janice.
