Friday Night Summer League Results (11/7/2014) On a really balmy evening there were 24 entries in the front nine holes strokeplay competition with a very popular score of Nett 35 on countback for the first three positions. In first position was Michael Stonehouse, followed by Ritchie Kendrick in second with Ralph Wright being on the podium for two weeks running taking third place. Handicap reduction was the order of the day for Michael who will now be playing off 4, with Ritchie just escaping the chop by the skin of his teeth and remaining off 3. Amazingly there were no twos recorded on the designated eigth hole but plenty of near misses! With Vice Captain Arnie White preferring to play in the Ryder Cup competition at Hexham, it was left to our very own Returning Officer Bob Smith to keep a very close eye on proceedings to ensure there were no recounts before posting the correct scores in record time. There are now only eight weeks left to the conclusion of this seasons Friday night summer league so as Sir Alex Ferguson would say.....Its squeaky bum time for the leaders as one or two wins will make a big difference to the final league positions. Good luck everyone, its now in your own hands.
