Friday, November 15, 2013, 9:25 AM No severe weather is expected today or tonight. There will be some showers and thunderstorms in Arkansas Saturday and Saturday night. The storms on Saturday night have a small chance of producing hail in northern and central parts of the state. Severe weather will be possible in eastern Arkansas Sunday afternoon and early Sunday evening. The area at risk will be east of a line from Pocahontas to Searcy to Pine Bluff to Crossett. There is still some doubt as to how many storms will be able to develop in Arkansas. Coverage of storms will undoubtedly be greater in areas to the east and northeast of Arkansas, especially in the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys. Assuming that storms do manage to form in Arkansas, damaging winds will be the greatest severe weather threat. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Greatest chances of severe weather in the state appear to be in northeast Arkansas. Not every place in Arkansas will receive rain over the next couple of days. Where rain does fall, amounts of 1/4 to 3/4 inch should be the most common, but there could be some totals around an inch in the eastern part of the state. I will issue the next message around 9:30 AM Saturday.
