Friends I am laying here in bed thinking about this past month or a little over. As many of you know I was in the hospital last week. Many of you do not know why. I was out in the water helping Justin and JC with Dock cleanup. I was moving a section of dock that we had cut loose and found a piece of roof metal off of M Dock with my leg. I went in and had it washed out and stitched up. Unfortunately, I ended up going Septic a few days later and on top of that I had Staph infection and 2 other infections in my leg. It was what I now look back at and think I am damn lucky. I want you all to know this has been a struggle for me, my girls, Justin and all of our staff. I am a control freak and like to be hands on in everything I do. Today however I realized yet again that things will run just fine if I trust in those around me. I also want you to know and understand that I truly love what I do at PH. I want you to know that I am true and loyal to Justin and will always be grateful for our friendship. My injury has been very hard on Justin because he treats me and my girls like a part of his family. I made the choice to work side by side with him after the storm. He never once asked me to get in there and help. I dont want anymore whispers about him making me do that kind of work. I wanted to be out there with him because I want Patterson Harbor to be a fun, happy environment for all of us. I also want to thank my staff for stepping up to the plate to cover for me during my hospital stay and during my recuperation. I want to thank all of you whom sent me cards, flowers, and called me during this time. It means more to me than you know. My life has been altered greatly by this experience. I look at the storm and injury and illness as a blessing. I know that sounds crazy but good things have come to us in so many ways. We have received calls and emails thanking us, we had customers whom drove great distances to feed us during cleanup. We had customers that helped us clean up trees and trash. We can never express enough how those gestures meant to us. We will all learn and heal. Know always that we do care and we welcome you to voice your thoughts and concerns. Please be patient and tolerant as we continue to fix and rebuild. We will bounce back!!! My love to you all, Tami
